Celebrate Chinese New Year at These Washington, D.C. Restaurants on Jan. 22

Here in the United States, we might be suffering from the post-New Year blues already, but the Chinese New Year hasn’t even arrived yet. We can all celebrate it on January 22, when the Year of the Rabbit arrives and hopefully brings 365 days of luck.

This Chinese New Year, which is the most important festival in China and is known as a time to feast, you can celebrate right here in Washington, D.C. by heading to one of our city’s many amazing, authentic Chinese eateries. Here are a few to check out near your Vale apartment.

Queen’s English, located at 3410 11th St NW, Washington, D.C. which is 13 minutes from your Vale apartment, is a Cantonese restaurant serving Hong Kong cuisine with a twist by husband and wife team Henji Cheung and Sarah Thompson, who have combined passion and heritage to create their restaurant.

Queen’s English is known for its fresh seafood, ginger, garlic, scallion, soy, fun textures and lots of flavor. Their intimate dining room is lively and inviting, and their chef’s counter mesmerizes while customers watch the chefs and bartender in action.

Dumplings and Beyond, located at 2400 Wisconsin Ave NW, Washington, D.C. which is 16 minutes from your Vale apartment, is an unpretentious kitchen serving traditional Chinese food, such as dumplings, noodles and hot pot.

Each of their dumplings is carefully weighted and folded by hand to achieve their signature shape and stuffed with top-quality meat marinated in a blend of carefully-selected seasonings. Paired with the special dumpling sauce, every bite is the perfect bite!
